Aston Martin sued by Troll for Patent Infingement

In the popular venue of the Eastern District of Texas, Aston Martin Lagonda North America was sued today for patent infringement of US patent 6520669 relating to "Flexible substrate mounted solid-state light sources for exterior vehicular lighting."

The original company looks to have assigned the patent to the plaintiff in this case, Effective Illuminated Pathways, LLC who is suing Aston Martin in addition to a host of other automotive manufacturers including BMW, Ford, and Volkswagen Group.

In classic troll shake-down fashion, they are also asserting patents against a host of retailers and other manufacturing companies including Wal-Mart and others. The case is 6:11-cv-00034-LED
